APPENDIX I to the minute of the Environmental and Consumer Protection Committee of 13 August 1996 (Article 2 refers)

At a MEETING of the ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSUMER PROTECTION EXECUTIVE SUB-COMMITTEE held in the Town and County Hall, Forfar on Monday 15 July 1996 at 3.45 pm.

1. EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS

The Sub-Committee resolved in terms of Standing Order No 27(2) that the public and press be excluded during consideration of the following matter which was exempt in terms of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, paragraphs 6, 8, 9 and 10.

2. WHEELED BIN TENDER ACCEPTANCES - MONIFIETH/SIDLAW

There was submitted Report No 555/96 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection (a) indicating (i) that tenders had been invited from five companies for the supply of domestic wheeled bins, (ii) that tenders had been invited from the same five companies plus the Council’s Contract Services Department for the assembly and delivery of the bins to individual houses and (b) recommending acceptance of the lowest tenders received being those submitted by OTTO (UK) Limited, Swaldincote, Derbyshire for the supply of bins at a cost of £104,400 and the assembly and delivery of bins at a cost of £5,400, a total of £109,800.

The Sub-Committee approved the terms of the Report and authorised acceptance of the lowest tenders received.
