MINUTE of SPECIAL MEETING of the PERSONNEL AND PROPERTY SERVICES COMMITTEE held in the Town and County Hall, Forfar on Monday, 23 February 1998 at 2.36 pm.

Present: Councillors ROB MURRAY, WILLIAM MIDDLETON, JACK GIBB, IAN HUDGHTON, ALEX KING, Mrs RENATE LAMONT, GLENNIS MIDDLETON, BRIAN MILNE, STEWART MOWATT, KATHLEEN RITCHIE and THOMAS YOUNG.

Councillor MURRAY, Convener, in the Chair.

 

1. PROVISIONAL REVENUE BUDGET 1998/1999

There were submitted (a) Report No 192/98 by the Director of Finance being the Summary Progress and Background Report on the Provisional Revenue Budget 1998/99; (b) Report No 193/98 by the Director of Finance being the Provisional Revenue Budget Volume, including a commentary by each Head of Department; and (c) Report No 194/98 by the Director of Finance being the Departmental Savings Proposals Volume.

The Committee agreed:-

(i) to note the Provisional Base Budget Submission for 1998/99 of Personnel, Property Services and Local Offices as contained in pages 116 to 117, 118 to 119, and 120 respectively of the Provisional Revenue Budget Volume (Report No 193/98);

(ii) to note the savings proposals of Personnel, Property Services and Local Offices as contained in pages 43 to 44, 45 to 46 and 47 to 48 respectively of the Departmental Savings Proposals Volume (Report No 194/98);

(iii) to approve the savings for the Personnel Department totalling £21,000, the savings of the Property Services Department totalling £38,000 and the savings for Local Offices totalling £6,000; and

(iv) to approve the revised budget net expenditure for the Personnel and Property Services Departments and Local Offices resulting therefrom and to advise the Council at the Council Tax setting meeting in early March 1998 accordingly.
