APPENDIX II to the minute of meeting of the Personnel and Property Services Committee of 31 August 1999 (Article 10(b) refers)

MINUTE of MEETING of the EXECUTIVE SUB-COMMITTEE of the PERSONNEL AND PROPERTY SERVICES COMMITTEE held in the Committee Room, Town and County Hall, Forfar on Monday 9 August 1999 at 3.30 pm.

Present: Councillors BILL MIDDLETON, ROB MURRAY and PETER NIELD (as substitute for Councillor Peter Murphy).

1. MINUTE OF PREVIOUS MEETING

The minute of meeting of 15 July 1999 was submitted and noted.

2. EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS

The Sub-Committee resolved, in terms of Standing Order 27(2) that the public and press be excluded from the meeting during considering of the following item, so as to avoid the disclosure of information which was exempt in terms of Paragraph 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

3. OFFICE ACCOMMODATION - 9 CASTLE STREET, FORFAR/FERRYDEN, MONTROSE/

RAVENSWOOD, FORFAR

There was submitted Report No 748/99 by the Director of Property Services proposing the transfer of the Economic Development Unit from Ferryden to Forfar and the provision of temporary offices at Ravenswood for the Property Services Maintenance Section.

The Sub-Committee agreed:-

(i) to approve the transfer of the Chief Executive's Economic Development Unit from Ferryden, Montrose to 9 Castle Street, Forfar as soon as could be arranged;

(ii) to note the opportunity to terminate the lease of the offices at Ferryden, Montrose on 11 November 1999 at no penalty cost;

(iii) to give due notice to terminate the lease of the offices at Ferryden, Montrose by 11 August 1999;

(iv) to approve the provision of temporary offices at Ravenswood, as outlined in the Report, for the use of the Property Services Maintenance Section; and

(v) that the Director of Property Services bring forward to a future meeting of the Personnel and Property Services Committee a Report on the future use of 9 West High Street, Forfar, incorporating the possible use as a Registrar's Office.
