Angus Archives has a proven track record in providing an historical research service to clients who are unable to conduct research for themselves. We specialise in researching all aspects of Angus history and ancestors. Archive staff can be commissioned to trace an entire family tree, locate one individual ancestor or research the history of a house, school or business. We will tackle any aspect of Angus heritage. We will conduct searches within Angus Archives own collection of 800 years of manuscript resources. These include the records of all the Angus burghs of Arbroath, Brechin, Carnoustie, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Montrose and Monifieth plus Angus County Council, private records, business records, records of societies, schools, poor relief, militia and architectural records. We can also provide information from Angus libraries extensive local history collections of newspapers, books, articles, directories, and a photographic collection of over 100,000 images. We will also search and provide information from the statutory records of post 1855 births, deaths and marriages, the census, International Genealogical Index and the Old Parish Registers. Subject lists of resources for local topics can be compiled.

Research can be commissioned in blocks of 1 hour of Angus Archives staff research time.
