Angus Glens Walking Festival 2019

Walk 16 - Mount Keen - Sunday 2 June

Leaving from Invermark car park and heading out past Auchronie Farm, the track climbs up to Badalair at 536m, then onto Hill of Kirny and to the Hill of Saughs and Hill of Gairney at 756m. From there it is an easy walk to Naked Hill before climbing to Braid Cairn at 887m. From there is a short descent before crossing a wide coll and then the final ascent to Mt Keen.

The summit gives great views of Deeside, Lochnagar, and the Angus Glens. The route then drops down along the broad South ridge of the mountain into Glen Esk, crossing Easter burn at Glenmark. Shortly afterwards passing the Queens well before a 3km trek back to the car park.

NB: This walk demands a high level of fitness.

Full hillwalking gear required.

Please bring a packed lunch and snacks.
