Angus Glens Walking Festival 2019
Walk 6 - Coastal Crawl - Friday 31 May
(Please download the PDF map (2 MB) if the 3D map does not display in your browser)
The walk starts at stunning Lunan Bay (voted one of the best beaches in Scotland), backed by the crumbling ruins of the 12th century Red Castle and finishes at Whiting Ness, Arbroath following the Angus coastal path along the 400 million year old red sandstone cliffs. These cliffs are undoubtedly the glory of the Angus coastline, both for their striking geological formations like sea caves, natural arches and stacks, with names like the Needle’s E’e, Deil’s Head, Mariner’s Grave or the Mermaid’s Kirk. As well as the incredible geological features there is also a wealth of coastal wildlife, you might even see the elusive Bottle-nose Dolphins. Boots and waterproofs required.
Please bring a packed lunch. Refreshments will be available at the Brewhouse after the walk.
