Walk 8 - Clachnaben, Mount Battock, Wester Cairn to Millden Lodge - Friday 31 May

(Please download the PDF map (2 MB) if the 3D map does not display in your browser)

The walk starts just off the B974 near Glendye Lodge. A track is followed beyond the lodge across Millerís Bog to a footpath which leads to the summit of Clachnaben at 579m, the most easterly Corbett in Scotland. The actual summit at 589m is a steep craggy outcrop. There are spectacular views to Deeside, the hills surrounding Glen Dye and beyond. From here there is a short descent then ascent to the Hill of Edendocher at 577m. A long track then follows the high ground before the long ascent of Mount Battock at 778m, the highest point of the walk. Outstanding panoramic views can be seen from the summit. From there the summit of Wester Cairn at 717m is reached before the long descent on a track alongside the Burn of Turret to the Mill of Aucheen and Millden Lodge.

Full hillwalking gear required.

Please bring a packed lunch and snacks.
